Winterthur's public libraries have recently developed into a modern networked service enterprise. Their main task is to provide information, literature and culture on all currently available modern data carriers by means of the usual forms of communication.
Whereas the Stadtbibliothek concentrates primarily on study and culture, the regional libraries provide the local residents with advisory, recreational and children's media.
